Research Group on Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare
Multidisciplinary group that develops artificial intelligence work in health with focus on the formation of people and scientific and technological production. Among the areas of activity, the following scientific areas are highlighted: patient safety; extraction and retrieval of information in clinical texts; classification of medical information; prediction of medical events in electronic medical records of a tertiary hospital; visualization and analysis of heterogeneous data in electronic medical records; among others. The programs involved are the PPGCC (Graduate Program in Computer Science) and the PPGGB (Graduate Program in Biomedical Gerontology). The group engages in activities of the scientific community in the area of Computer Science and Health through participation in conferences and conferences in the area.
Graduate Program in Biomedical Gerontology
The program started in June 2000 and is accredited in the National Graduate System of CAPES in the interdisciplinary area. It is in constant development in the search to strengthen productive relations with the most diverse areas of knowledge with a view to the scientific and technological development of Gerontology
Graduate Program in Computer Science
The Graduate Program in Computer Science (PPGCC) of the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS) had its first enrollment in the Master’s degree course in 1994, maintaining a solid and qualified training of graduates for more than 20 years. The PhD course began in 2005 and is currently fully established. In the last three-year evaluation of CAPES, the PPGCC / PUCRS reached a national excellence level (note 6), becoming one of the best Postgraduate Programs in Computing in Brazil.
